- Sportsbooks have the Democratic Party beating out the Republican Party in the 2020 Presidential Election.
- The Democrats have the Coronavirus Pandemic to thank for this lead as their healthcare initiatives are what put them in the leading spot going into Election Day.
WASHINGTON – As far as oddsmakers are concerned, the 2020 Presidential Election sees the Democratic Party as a lock to win in numerous categories on this coming November 3 Election Day.
Democrats are seeing a change geared in their favor among voters after years of trying to sweep Washington. This year, the Coronavirus Pandemic and the party’s stance on healthcare has ushered Democrats into Tuesday’s vote with winning odds to sweep the Capitol in a line of multiple victories.
“The bottom line for me is that everyone in this country should be able to get the health care they need without worrying about the cost — and I think this pandemic and economic crisis have underscored how important that is,” said Senator Patty Murray of Washington.
Should the Democrats win the Senate, Murray would be appointed to head of the health committee.
Props And Odds For The 2020 Presidential Election
As far as the 2020 Presidential Election winner goes, sportsbooks like Bovada are agreeing with general polls and news reports that say Biden is the favorite to win.
Biden has (-180) odds to take the Presidency while current President Donald Trump has odds of (+150) for re-election. These odds of course coincide with the wager asking who the winning party of the US Presidential Election in 2020 will be. The Democratic Party (Biden) is the favorite at (-180) with the Republican Party (Trump) coming in with (+150) odds.
For prop bets on which party will control the House of Representatives and the US Senate, the Democrats come in as the favorites again for both.
The idea of the Democratic Party winning over the entire District of Washington isn’t unheard of, especially when the nation has been enduring the fallout of COVID-19 for almost eight months now.
Democrats have strong views on healthcare and their initiatives for the country’s health are of the highest priority and that priority has won them over in polling and odds for political betting.
Control of the US House of Representatives gives -850 odds to the Democrats and +475 odds to the Republicans. US Senate Control is much closer with the Democrats receiving odds of -165 and the Republicans still trailing behind at +125 odds.
What’s Next?
The answers to all of these wagering questions will be revealed the night of November 3 when many votes will be counted nationwide.
While everything looks like 2020 will be the year of the donkey, bettors worldwide are still putting their money on the underdog, President Donald Trump.
If Trump is re-elected, some of those categories will have a winner that might be more Republican than Democrat. In 2020, all things have proved to be possible and in 2016 Trump was the underdog as well.
